What Happens When Your Pancreas Do Not Function

Stanley Kubrick

Dear friends,

I recently saw a photo exhibition of my favorite director, Stanley Kubrick.

enclose the flyer for those interested:

Well I do not mean commmentare le doti di regista ma mi soffermo su quelle fotografiche.

gave a speech that would never be forgotten by anyone present.

After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he asked a question:
'When it is reached by outside interference, nature does its work perfectly
. Unfortunately, my son Shay can not learn
things the way they do other children.
can not understand things as other deeply. Where is the natural order of things
when it comes to my son? '

The audience fell silent to the question.

The father continued: 'I think that when a child comes into the world as
Shay, physically and mentally handicapped, is
the great opportunity to realize human nature and occurs in the way other people treat that child
'.
At that point he began to tell a story:
Shay and his father walked past a park where there were children
Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, 'Do you think those guys will play
?' Shay's father knew that most of them do not
wished the team a player like Shay,
but he also knew that if he had been allowed to play, this would give his son
hope to be accepted by others
at the expense of his disability, something that Shay had immense needs. The father
Shay approached one of the guys on the field and asked (not expecting much
) if his son could play.
The boy looked around for approval and said: 'We are
losing by six points and the game is in the eighth inning. I think it might
join the team: we will enter the ninth '.
Shay joined the team bench and with a huge smile, put
on the team jersey.
The father looked at the scene with tears in his eyes and with a sense of
heat in the chest. The boys saw the joy of the padreall'idea
son was accepted by the other. At the end of the eighth inning, Shay's team took the
some points but was still behind by three points.
At the beginning of the ninth inning, Shay put on his glove and went into the field.
Although no shot came towards him, he was ecstatic just
the idea of \u200b\u200bplaying in a baseball field and with a huge smile that went from ear to ear
greeted his father in the stands.
At the end of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored a new point:
now, with two outs and the bases loaded you could even think of winning and
Shay was appointed to be the next at bat. At this point, would leave
Shayanche beat if it meant losing the game? Incredibly
let him beat.
Everyone knew that was impossible to Shay that he could not even hold
the bat, let alone hit a ball.
However, as Shay put on the plate, the pitcher,
understanding that the team was giving up the victory in exchange for that magical moment to
Shay, walked a few steps and threw the ball well and looking
plan because Shay could take it with the bat.
The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily at their destination, missing the ball.
Again, the shooter walked a few steps to gently pull the ball to Shay
. As the fire reached him
Shay swung and hit the ball this time
that returned slowly to the shooter.
But the game was not finished yet. At that point, the batter went
to collect the ball, he could give it to
'man on first base and Shay was eliminated and the game would end
. Instead ...
The shooter threw the ball much further than the man at first base and
so that no other team could pick it up.
Everyone from the stands and all the components of the two teams
began to shout: 'Shay run to first! Run to first! ' Shay
Never in his life had run so far, but he did so and
reached first base. He reached first base with eyes wide open
emotion. At that point, everyone yelled, 'Run to second base
!'
breath Shay ran to the second breathless.
When Shay reached second base on the opposing team
had now recovered the ball .. The youngest boy of that age
had taken the ball and then he knew he could win and become
the hero of the game, he could throw the ball to the man at second base but did
as the shooter before he threw it intentionally
far beyond the man at third base and in a way that no other team could pick
.
Everyone was shouting: 'Bravo Shay, so go! Now run! '
Shay reached third base because the opposing team a guy reached out and helped him
turning in the right direction. By the time Shay reached
third base all shouted with joy. Then all shouted, 'Run to first
, he returned to base !!!!' And he did: alone
returned to the first base, where all lifted him into the air and made the hero of the game.
'On that day,' said the father crying 'the boys from both teams
helped bring into this world a great gift of true love and humanity
'.
Shay did not live until the following summer.
E 'dead after the winter but it has never forgotten that
the hero of the game and making his father proud and happy ..
not ever forget the embrace of his mother when he returns home the
said he had giocato e vinto.

We all have thousands of opportunities every day to help
'natural course of things' to happen.
Every interaction between people, even the most unexpected
offers us an opportunity: spend a warm spark of love and humanity or
give up this opportunity and leave the world a little 'cooler?

A wise man once said every society is judged by how
is especially the less fortunate!
